Bees are responsible for regulating the biodiversity of the natural environment. Their work includes the pollination of plants. Of these, 70 % represent the plants that form part of the human diet, livestock and pets. The worsening ecological crisis and problems with food production make it essential to care for the populations of these insects.

Polish specialists demonstrated that CBD/hemp oil extracts added to the diet of bees prolong their life and contribute to a positive stimulation of the immune system. In addition, they reported that supplementation with hemp extract increases the activity of the antioxidant system.

This study The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of a commercial hemp extract in the form of CBD oil on the activity of the antioxidant system and the concentrations of basic ions important in cellular processes in honey bees(Apis mellifera).

The results obtained showed that all antioxidant enzyme activities tested were higher for the experimental groups with CBD oil, in particular, the best stimulation effect was obtained for the group that consumed the addition of this oil, coinciding with previous publications. And the increase of calcium ion concentrations was observed in the experiment, suggesting that CBD may have an effect on ion-dependent immune enzymes involved in the body's defenses.

After a series of studies in cages and in colony conditions, the experts suggest using CBD in nutritional supplements. In addition, research confirms that the active ingredient CBD may be responsible for the positive effect of hemp extract.
